PFP Candidates so far (4).png

Women make up over half of our population and more women are turning out than ever before to vote. We often wait longer to commit our votes, carefully weighing the differences between candidates. So candidates, here's your chance to let the women of Durham Region know where you stand on the issues that are important to them and their families.

Women in the Durham Region are serious about making an impact on the outcome of the provincial elections this June and want to know if our candidates are committed to change.

To assist women with their decision-making, the VPCC in collaboration with The Canadian Federation of University Women and the Business and Professional Women's Club of Durham, are calling on all political parties to commit to a provincial leaders forum. All candidates will have the opportunity to share their views and show where they stand on important issues identified by women, which include:

Ending violence against women

Ending women's economic inequality

Supporting women's  leadership and organizations

The women of Durham Region want to know what the leaders of our local provincial parties have to say about these issues for this election.

We want a public conversation between parties, so we can hear what candidates have to say and where they stand on the diverse needs and realities of our communities.
